Pros

Management is required to help you sell more, which makes your job more fun. Given many athletes work along with you, sales numbers can get competitive and keep things interesting. Also, the employee discount is nice. For those who do their job correctly and put in a year or two, there are many opportunities to move up to management.

Cons

Unfortunately, the store managers are sometimes the least excited to be there. Assistant managers and managers in training are usually the most helpful and motivated, but both store managers I worked for seemed like they were burned out. Compensation starts low, but there are possibilities of raises after putting in a few good months.

Pros

Good employee discount and you're almost guarenteed the latest Jordan release.

Cons

Racial slurs were thrown around daily. Horrible hours. Horrible scheduling. Ignorant employees. You must understand that most of your associates are not college educated and unprofessional "sneaker heads." Not a good team environment. During 6months of working, management held not 1 meeting to discuss concerns/progress with emploees. They simply don't care what you think!

Pros

The discounts were good. Being located in the mall was good. Meeting different people that come in. Also the schedule flexibility.

Cons

The managers suck. One has actually been fired since I left. They hire you uo be a cashier but then turn around and want you to be a sales associate but you can't get commission.
