Pros

30% Discount Flexible schedule for students

Cons

DM's and RVP and VP's are horrible! DM's for example sit in the back on their laptops and cell phones all day. Then come out and give a soap box and rip into the staff and people and when they leave everyone is all pissed off at the DM. What's worse is that DM's can't practice what you’re preaching! DM's and even LP have no clue where the product is in the backroom and can't even ring up a customer. Upper level mgt are living off the glory days of the 70's 80's and 90's when everyone was buying Jordan’s, or stores were opening left and right and bragging about how they ran stores which in return they were promoted. Back then it was easy to move up the corporate ladder. Which all that has changed! If you ask DM's for help, they in return delegate the work to someone else or tell you they can't do whatever you’re asking. Sales goals are a joke. I ran a store where I was #1 in almost all categories in the district and region. But that didn't matter. But if didn't matter then why measure it? Conversion is the number one goal. It makes sense on an excel spreadsheet but in reality its a joke. They want 20% of the people who walk in to buy something. You can't compare apples and oranges. For example, you have more traffic in most weeks then a store doing 2 million or so more but their product dept is 200% more than yours. And DM's and RVP's etc don't know how to connect with customers. They think they do by saying just do B.O.B. But on Bench. But never showed or talked about how to get customers to sit down. And if they did, they want you to bring out 3 shoes to a customer and get them to buy two shoes? Ridiculous! First off, most of the customer 1st choice we never had the size or even have it on the wall, second if you have 4 customers at once they want you to bring out 12 shoes! And third, in this economy most people are not buying 2 or 3 shoes! No incentive for the customer to buy multiple pairs of shoes. when customers get coupons from Finishline, they can't use it on the hot items or most items in the store. Labor budgets were a joke as well. You have over 1000 people walk in your store in one day and in return only have 3 people on the sales floor. No movement for advancement at all. They are closing more stores then opening. If you are educated, have a good business minded then stay away! If your 18-21 and no college degree and no experience and won't challenge upper level management then you will be the perfect Finishline mgr

Pros

Flexible schedule. Friendly co-workers. Amazing discount for employees. Very understanding when it comes to taking time off. Overall great place!

Cons

Sales goals are the worst. They force you to demonstrate shoe cleaning products, and that a lot of the time means rejection from customers.
