Pros

Great people/coworkers, working with incredible, cutting-edge technology, very bright and creative engineers, tons of experience to gain in a short time. If you like wearing many hats and working untethered to industry ‘norms’ this company is perfect.

Cons

Long hours, lower than average pay, constantly shifting schedules and goals, no strategy to achieve goals, lack of legacy experience.

Pros

I got to work with some truly wonderful and brilliant people whose passion and dedication to the mission inspired me daily. Working on rockets is an obvious benefit. All employees have the chance to make a big impact on an awesome project. Incredible opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

Decisions made by the seats of pants. Each new week seemed to bring a new political crisis or another questionable shake-up. Unrealistic expectations and volatile leadership sometimes engendered a culture of fear.

Pros

Lots of new projects that are ripe for creativity. Leadership empowers employees to make technical decisions and encourages stepping into new realms to learn.

Cons

Being a new space company means that the company sometimes faces barriers to becoming established that affect overall operations. The government must vet lots of what Firefly does and that can be burdensome at times (but also is probably a good thing at times).
