      Pros

      Direct store leadership is nice. They sometimes will pay for your ASE tests They bend over backwards to make customers feel welcome

      Cons

      Customers tend to get recommendations that they declined for free by calling the customer affairs line. Many jobs pay half of what they do at other shops, a good example is a brake service pays .8 hr including machining rotors, and no additional labor for replacing and bleeding calipers. Good Luck getting a pay increase. Spend a couple of days per year at company sanctioned Indoctrination conferences.

      Pros

      Good benefits, the possibility to make real good money (if your in the right place at the right time) and a chance to work for corporate. The company has a promote from within atmosphere, if you have a bachelors degree you can go pretty much anywhere.

      Cons

      You are not in control of your own destiny! Techs (who are paid like crap) have to want to make money for you to make money. Very tough sales goals, and should you hit them, next year will be that much more unattainable. Very depended on market conditions beyond your control. Cars are getting much harder to fix and requiring much less repair and an overall negative cust experience.

      Many hours Limitations on shop equipment You depend on multiple salesmen... many of whom are brand new to the automotive industry
