Even in the face of an economic downturn, title giant First American has managed to find ways to remain profitable. From an employee perspective, this translates into higher job stability and a more comprehensive benefits package. The workload is constantly challenging without being overwhelming, and this has fostered a cooperative, team-driven culture that in turn encourages all members to give their best, while at the same time managing to balance their work with their personal life.

Cons

Career stalling, due to a lack of opportunities for personal growth and advancement, especially for highly skilled employees in technical fields, because the only path for advancement involves taking on project management and leaving technical tasks. There's no training to speak of, and the performance review process is acceptable, but middle and upper management rarely pay heed to suggestions. And the dark side of being profitable involves a penny-pinching attitude that means no bonuses, insignificant raises and wages that are average or lower than those paid at other companies for similar job titles and experience.

Flex timings, the compensation is pretty competitive and the benefits are good.

Cons

Management chaos - the management doesn't know their head from their you know what... IT projects outsourced to India are managed HORRIBLY and usually results in failed worthless products patched up to look great. Employee retention is very low on their priority, employees to them are just a expendable statistic.
