Pros

Very suitable for entry-level positions, providing opportunities to quickly gain a solid foundation in banking knowledge.

Cons

With the restricted scale of overseas branches, employees tend to face stagnation and burnout after two to three years, as career progression is limited and there is no effective development or training plan for local hires.

Pros

• Flexible schedule: Especially if you’re experienced or work independently, you often set your own hours. • Growing industry: Real estate and refinancing are huge industries, and there’s always demand, even when rates fluctuate. • Helping people: You help individuals and families buy homes, which can be very rewarding personally. • Networking opportunities: You build a strong network with real estate agents, builders, financial advisors, and clients. • Career progression: Opportunities to move into management, underwriting, or brokerage ownership if you want.

Cons

• High competition: You’re competing with banks, brokers, and other officers constantly. • Stressful: Meeting sales quotas, closing deadlines, and handling clients’ emotions (especially with financing) can be exhausting. • Market-dependent: If interest rates spike or housing markets slow, business can dry up quickly. • Regulatory burden: Mortgage lending is highly regulated, and staying compliant can be a lot of work (licensing, continuing education, audits).

Pros

- Some coworkers are nice - Fair pay

Cons

- Most higher management is directly transferred from Taiwan and rotates through different departments without understanding how to get the work done. They can’t lead, have no management skills, lack basic manners, and are often disrespectful. - There’s no proper handover or training, new hires are just thrown into the deep end, and they expect them to know how to do everything. - Most managers don’t even know what their team does; they don’t bother to train people but are quick to blame them. - Upper management has terrible emotional control, they frequently use foul language and sigh throughout the day, creating a lot of stress for everyone. - They interrupted employees even during vacations and bereavement leave. - They’re strict about lunch breaks, and upper management even pops in to spy on employees. - There’s a huge disparity in how employees are treated. - Management has yelled at employees. - The office environment isn’t respectful, friendly, or supportive. - Micromanagement is a big issue. - The work environment is full of gossip and toxic behavior. - There is no personal privacy; staff outside the HR department share and discuss new employees' resumes and personal documents.
