Pros

Really good benefits. They have a great training system at the Kaneohe branch.

Cons

Low pay for the work we do. It took a year to get a decent pay, but it is still not enough. They only gave a pay raise 2 years too late.

Pros

Great corporate culture - company truly cares about its employees which is reflected in the fact that there are so many long-time employees. People are very nice; family-oriented.

Cons

Very conservative company - company trying to catch up technologically due to lack of investment over the years. Things take a long time to get done. Company slow to change.

Pros

Great place to work. FHB cares about culture and values: There are good people who work here. FHB cares about their employees: Helping during the flooding in Kalihi and the lava from the volcano on the big island. FHB is about being a family: You like your co-workers and you like coming to work. FHB wants you to stay: They will counter offer if you try to leave for another job or find a better career path for you. FHB has good benefits. The have education opportunities and loan/mortgage benefits, in addition to the standard retirement, medical, dental, vision etc.

Cons

Not so great place to work. FHB cares about culture and values: If you don't fit their narrow view of a good employee, they don't want you. FHB cares about their employees: They are there during major incidents... Not so much in everyday caring though. FHB is about being a family: You better love this place like family because they don't pay well. FHB wants you to stay: Only if they like you. Otherwise don't let the door hit you on they way out. FHB has good benefits. The non-traditional benefits like the mortgage or education come with a payback period (penalty).
