Pros

If you have a passion to work with foster care youth and adults then you will be happy.

Cons

Salary and support of management is terrible. You are pressured to put pressure on clients who’s lives you cannot control. Many of the clients lack motivation to want to change their lives and you are held responsible for this.

Pros

I love that our organization cares about its employees' well being. First Place provides 2-month PAID sabbaticals to employees who have worked for 7 years. We received 8 PAID days off so that everyone could enjoy the holidays during Christmas and New Year's. We receive 8 in-person counseling sessions available from one EAP provider, PLUS 3 more from a 2nd EAP provider. I've worked with SEVERAL friendly peer and colleagues! Our CEO is approachable! We have work flexibility and several of us work a hybrid work schedule whereby we only have to report to the office one day per week! If we want to work in the often more often, then we have the freedom to do that too. We have a DEIB program in place that offers ongoing training throughout the year. It is mandatory for ALL employees to attend it.

Cons

Because the organization went from 30 employees to over 130 employees, there are a lot of system processes that need to be improved in order to accommodate our growth.
