Pros

Helping people in need. Possibly get a lot of hours if you want them.

Cons

Did not have many regular hours. Management is constantly calling during your off hours because of call offs or no shows I guess. They will even get you to try to work 40 hours straight without sleep. For example ,three clients 12 hour shifts back to back. Can't possibly be a good employee under those circumstances and it is illegal. They don't seem to care . They just want bodies and make you feel like that's all that you are is a body. You can say no but a good employer wouldn't have even asked.Management does not acknowledge their employees . You will never see them which is kind of nice but they should have company parties to show appreciation especially with the low pay. Terrible pay for such an important job. Those poor people are getting the bottom of the line coming in their homes. I can say though that most of these home health companies are the same. I'm not sure about the working people 40 hours + straight through. No benefits and they want you to take the clients paperwork to them while you are off the clock without pay. Terrible. Don't even consider that a legit job.

FirstLight Home Care Response

They "Did not have many regular hours" but we "tried to work them 40 hours straight without sleep". I'm not sure which it is, if we were asking a caregiver to work 40 hours straight I would think we had plenty of regular hours? It's obvious this person did not like working for us and I'm sorry that we both made a bad decision. At FirstLight Home Care, our extraordinary caregivers are the most significant members of our team. By embracing each day with values of trust, honesty, respect, integrity and dedication, we cultivate our relationships to the benefit of each caregiver and the entire organization as a whole. We are very proud of the incentive programs we offer our employees; paid vacation, paid overtime, weekly bonus pay, referral bonuses, Christmas bonus and quarterly performance awards. We have also done Christmas lunches, bowling events and paid quarterly training. So I'm not sure who this caregiver is, but I hope they find a company they are happy with since they believe "most home health care companies are the same". Have a blessed day. Pros

The management of Firstlight is very well structured. The two ladies at the office are very helpful and will help you get to work if you're car isn't working or something has happened. The clients I've worked with have been, for the most part, kind and very helpful in expressing their needs.

Cons

For me, it's a very far drive to the clients' homes.
