      This job made me miserable.

      Pros

      I got paid 62,000 per year. I got to look at how credit card transactions work. I got to use programming languages.

      Cons

      Management made life here very miserable for me and I was constantly unhappy, and wanting to quit. There is a lot of absolutism here. Very old fashion and people are not happy from being overworked. People are not very open about new ideas and new ways to do things, there is no support or help from your colleagues. Very bureaucratic and the company is bound to keep losing people and eventually fail. Lots of yelling and fear. please only accept job if you are 40+ years old. Very old fashion.

      Great benefits, large company to work within.

      Cons

      Silo across business. Don't believe in the "One-Fiserv" motto. Direction and employment driven by sales of product/service. If they are not met, then one affects the other which can be outside of your control.

      Discouraging environment

      Pros

      The technical aspects of the job were good for a while. Eventually though this was overwhelmed by the frustration of an interminable planning cycle and very little technical innovation. The people I worked with were great for the most part, and we did some nice things like regular potlucks.

      Cons

      Little to no recognition of employees (other than the one annual Associate Recognition day); expectations of being available whenever needed with not even a thank you for major contributions; generally negative atmosphere that pervades everything. Zero performance feedback for the most part, and the little I did get (all positive) had no correlation with any promotions or salary adjustments.
