Pros

Money. Only soul-less money gubbing gromits would work for this place. However, their salries and benefits in some areas compete with other financial institutuions and even some tech companies in the area. So if your in it for the money you might want to take a look.

Cons

No parking, no freedom, no internet access (really!), extremely hostile environment, total mind control, very bad investment advice they have been wrong about the market for over a year, I feel sorry for their clients. They have had layoffs recently, probably due to their poor performance through the financial meltdown. The place is chock full of a holes.

Pros

Sr. Mngmt is in the process of perserving the core business values and actively trying to have them permeate throughout the ranks. Benefits are at no cost to the employee - very valuable.

Cons

The hours are tough; 7 to 5 makes for a very long day. Team leaders need additional training on how to be effective managers.

Pros

I haven't been at Fisher very long, but so far I really like it. My manager is involved in my work and is always willing to help. From my experience the company is open and honest with employees and I always get the info I need if I ask. I have seen a lot of people in my department and other departments move on to other positions, so it looks like career advancement is there, but you have to perform well. I also have learned much more about the industry than I had expected. Business Week recently ran an article about the best places to launch a career. Fisher was featured in the top 100 companies based on a number of factors. I think that is good indication of what kind of place Fisher is to work.

Cons

I live in San Francisco and wish our office was in the city. Our long hours (10 hour days) can be tiresome, but at least I don't have to work on the weekend.
