      After six years, I give up

      Pros

      The past was great but has become increasingly crazy with unrealistic expectations. The atmosphere in and expectations of the stores has gone bad in the six years that I have been a General Manager.

      Cons

      After the most recent company antics with store deliveries preceding inventory and the expectation that we "just have to get it done" it is time to look for another job.

      Pros

      The employees that work for me are loyal and make the job better.

      Cons

      No view of P&L reports at store level, only have ability to order about 5% of the store and that even gets screwed up. Freight management operations of receiving shipments is a joke. Corporate inventory allocators believe they always send you the right product.

      Pros

      The cons are so overwhelming it's hard to even find positives. The company concept is great and it could be a fun atmosphere if management had some peoe skills and a clue how to lead and motivate.

      Cons

      Motivation is through intimidation. Communication is poor. Objectives are not clear. Time management is impossible because there just simply not enough hours in a day to get the task completed that are asked of each manager. Working 12 - 14 hour days is common place, even 18 hour days to meet deadline demands.
