Upon talking to managers at other locations who were more level headed, I learned that this was work culture coming down from corporate. Every employee at Five Star is a resource, and will be taken advantage like one.
Part time employees regularly work full time hours with no benefits during the busy season, and in the winter get minimal to no work. The trick is trying to stay on top of the work orders and the event calendar yourself and try to schedule other work around their constantly changing schedule.
