You can never get time off. If you take a few Saturdays, you won't be able to take some off later. Some of the higher authority stab you in the back, telling you how good you do, then telling management the opposite. If you are late by a second, you get penalized by it, and will be talked to.

Thinking outside the box is discouraged unless it agrees with an already in-place process. Inconsistent staffing practices makes for difficult management of employees (Varying personalities means varying forms of supervising). Once again, inconsistent management makes for difficult supervising (Managers change "assigned departments" once a year, therefore creating a new managing environment each year for said department). It's retail so stereotypical "retail" job tasks/work schedules apply.
