Ask for too much, pay too little

Pros

Fun coworkers, occasional networking with customers, free shoes, good discounts, flexible schedule

Cons

Micromanagement, nasty feet, rude people, the pay, long hours, annoying sales reps from companies, and owners asking for way too much. They want you to upsell, provide some premium service, and stay constantly busy but pay you minimum wage and rag on you for ever single little thing

Pros

1. Interact with customers on a daily basis. 2. Learn about different shoes, apparel, and running accessories. 3. Learn about the bio mechanics of the body. 4. Social events hosted to bring the Fleet Feet community together; i.e., hosting clinics that explain a product's benefits. 5. Receive 30% off store merchandise, and receive up to 80% off merchandise via 3point5.com.

Cons

1. Low hourly wage. 2. Complaining customers can be difficult.

Pros

Discounts on items. Some co-workers customers can be really fun to work with. Training is very good for a retail position.

Cons

It is a retail job. So, low pay, lots of hours. No real scheduled breaks for lunch. 8-10 hours on the sales floor some days. No scheduled pay raises or reviews. Having to upsell every step of the way with inserts, sports bras, socks...while seeking NO commission for all of your effort...just lining the pockets of the owners. No, a $5 gift card to Starbucks is not equally to me selling thousands of dollars a day. Serious micromanagement from ownership. Playing "doctor" sometimes with serious conditions regarding peoples feet. Having to touch some really truly gross feet. Not enough life balance for serious athletes who work at the store.
