Good People, Questionable Company Values
Pros
Lovely crew to work with. If it wasn’t for the people, I wouldn’t have stayed anywhere near as long as I did. Would have walked out two weeks in.
Cons
Toxic company culture that values shareholder profits over the mental well being and retention of good staff. They’re doing nothing to prevent the brain drain happening within their own company, lots of good people leaving for better pay and less stress. Myself and coworkers have cried or had mental breakdowns while at work, you’re expected to wipe your tears and get back on the shop floor. I worked for Mico Plumbing and customers dictate how the branch does it’s business - everything is an emergency and has to be done NOW or we get the butt of verbal abuse from trade customers. I’ve never worked in an environment where casual disrespect and sexism was so acceptable. Branch manager tries their best to change things but it’s not solely branch issues, the problem is systematic and starts at the top.
