      Pros

      - lots of work to do if you like a busy and challenging environment - good people - the diversity and scale of the portfolio is massive - lots of opportunities to improve

      Cons

      - not as agile as a small business, very complex - the old mentality needs to go, embrace and drive change - will be good to see more recognition of staff that are working hard - politics

      High profile NZ business Some pockets of great people Good benefits and study options

      Cons

      You need to learn about 7 different systems just to do your job. Information comes at you from too many forums and angles. Have cellphone? You have to be MARRIED to that thing. Constant pressure to cut headcount in business units that are already suffering from staff that are over-stretched. "Do more with less" is the catch-cry. HR are the worst at following the standards and processes they demand of the rest of the business The ethics of stitching up the market in a way that competitors can't compete is a large part of the reason the cost of building in NZ is ridiculously high. Well known in the industry as the 'mafia'.
