Pros

Some excellent, excellent people working for an awful company. Employees are any company's BIGGEST asset.

Cons

Very unimpressed with my entire employment experience at FNG. I simply do not even know where to begin when talking about my less-than-one-year journey as a FNG employee. In a nutshell, it is a culture full of biases, abuse of power, carelessness, lack of responsibility and ownership, and overall terribly unsupportive. As a Human Resources professional, I was excited to join a team and eager to make a difference. I am the type of employee that likes challenge and is willing to take on projects and facilitate positive changes within organizations. Saying this, I quickly came to realize that the FNG team is not really a team after all. While some members of management are fantastic, a majority cannot grasp the concept of supportive teamwork, taking onus and responsibility, and proactive as opposed to reactive management styles. Moreover, it was sad to see those employees and even some leaders within the organization fall short and take the hit for certain outcomes when they did not receive any support or direction from upper management. That leads me to my next point, which is a topic I hold to the highest degree - training. The lack of support for training is absolutely outrageous and disgusting. As a manufacturing facility, training should be one of the #1 priorities for a variety of reasons, most importantly, worker safety. Training is completely undervalued at FNG. ALL responsibility falls onto Human Resources when it comes to training. And I am not talking about onboarding training - I am talking about job-specific training. I know for a fact if this company was ever audited for training records, I can confidently say the auditor would either A. not find any or B. have a very hard time locating it. While I could go on about employee appreciation (or lack of), lack of succession planning and employee development, among other issues, I will spare you. I believe if this company would like to continue operating ethically and effectively as a profitable business, it needs a serious overhaul in terms of organizational structure. "A bad management team can take a good staff and destroy it, causing the best employees to leave and the remainder to lose all motivation".
