Pros
Mathematics department at FAU (Boca Raton campus) must be considered as one of the best departments at FAU. Most of the professors have either had their own Ph.D in mathematics/computer-science or have worked at well-known places like Harvard, Princeton, Waterloo, Rutgers, OSU, Cornell, MIT etc. Being trained at these palces, one can see the high quality of education that is provided by them at any level of graduate course.
Someone once told me, to do a good research, the key point is your advisor. One might not like the area at times, but a good advisor can make you like it. I highly recommend mathematics dept. at FAU for graduate studies. Not only one can see themselves rise and learn (not just about mathematics but about industry related applied work among the humble company of these professors), but also enjoy their time in warm sunny florida among very international/national fellow grads.
Cons
Never buy the health insurance from F A U, buy it from some outside company if you ever have to.
