Pros

I feel like Florida State University cares about me as as individual and that I am not just a number in the system of the University. It's a great place to work because you have the chance to interact with so many great people at the University, whether they are directly involved with your field of study or not.

Cons

It is a Government institution so there are times when the long paperwork process and bureaucracy becomes frustrating to deal with.

good benefits, although cuts may be imminent; lots of young people; a pretty good amount of free arts performances; football, if you care

Cons

rapey state legislature; weak department heads (often); limited potential exists for career advancement for certain professions; this is really a 3rd tier school
