Pros

Freedom to do what you want when you're not working on a car. People overall are generally nice and can be helpful and can be fun to work with if you have a good attitude.

Cons

Bad Healthcare benefits, slow wage increases, flat rate system so you don't get paid if there is no business in the shop. Some service writers are too afraid to approach a customer for up sales which means you don't make money. A lot of sitting around.
