Pros

Great pay and benefits. Most of my co-workers are great.

Cons

RACIST AND VERY TWO FACED MANAGEMENT. WHY MUST I PUNCH OUT FOR LUNCH IF I CANT LEAVE THE PREMISES? They say " sanitation purposes" but yet both my super will leave for hrs on end and then come back and go out on the floor. REFUSE TO PROMOTE MINORITIES DESPITE THEIR SENIORITY/ PEER REVIEW PROCEDURES!!(NOT A MINORITY) I guess we are all expendable except for the favorites.

Pros

Pay was good, had no supervision and knew what we had to do and did it. Working solo was a new and refreshing thing, if your a self motivated person and don't need someone at your heels everyday saying 'come on let's go, these trucks aren't gonna unload themselves" it was a great job. You show up, do the work that needs to be done in a timely manner then you should be good.

Cons

I worked for them for almost 3 years and was laid off because they felt like it should be a one man job when intact the company had acquired new business....hostess going bankrupt....needless to say it was hard for 2 people to do the job let alone one person in the time that was they expected. Your hours could be anywhere from 3pm -12 or even 4-5am one day to the next day not needing to be there till 8-12 depending on if they had an oven breakdown. Or whatever which happened all the time....so if you don't have family or kids, or a social life this is not the job for you! I was never late....never called in.... and was laid off on great terms! When the guy that had more seniority than me didn't pan out I had to put my app back in to get my job back, so I did. I did a drug screening and they said I failed...when I asked them why I failed they said I tested positive for opiates and I have a prescription for those opiates and not to mention they already had that information from the almost 3 yrs I worked for them before in their system!! So I said hey that's no problem I can have my DR fax the info to guys....Ive been on this medication since early 2002 (when they hire me the first time was Nov 2011) and they told me no your test already came back positive...theres nothing we can do, I said but what tested positive for is a prescribed medication that I was already on and they knew about it when I worked for them the first time.....so please tell me how that's not some sort of discrimination on some level even if laws permit it in some sort of state loophole, I could never afford a good enough attorney to make a difference or to prove a point so I've found a better job at McLane which is one of the best food distributing company's ....that being said. I will NEVER buy a flowers product again and will always steer people away based off of my employment experience
