Pros

Great Company to work for. I worked for them for 24 years until I fell out of Ryder Truck while running a route one day in 1999, I fell out of back of truck and broke my back, had to have 2 major surgeries but went back to college and would love to go back to work for them in a management position as I was in for 12 years before getting hurt. I feel I received fair pay for a days work. I would love to go back to work for them anywhere in the USA and would settle with workers compensation in Ohio if they would offer me a fair settlement as I would in Ohio and was state funded worker's comp instead of Employer self insured, SSDI has a program for you to try and return to work and I know I would be a great asset to their as I went back to college and got my degree in Accounting, Business Management, Quality Control, among others. Now is a great time to be working for Flowers, I was working for one of the earliest bakeries they bought out in WV which the plant I worked at is now closed.

Cons

When I got hurt the President and others were not fair in treatment of their management team, but they were removed from FBC of WV about 2 weeks after I got injured, but the new management kept me on the payroll for an additional 4 years when all they needed to was 6 months so my insurance and things continued.

Pros

Plenty of hours(good when you are paid hourly), get to be on your own, no boss hovering over your head. Free stale bread,

Cons

Long hours, expect to work every day of the week 14-15 hour days. They will tell you, you get Sundays and Wednesdays off, do not be fooled. There are no deliveries done on those days, but you still have to go and merchandise your stops. If you have a family, and a life outside of work, you will never get to see them. Very hard work, they're goal is to get you to buy in on a route. They entice you in the beginning with a decent hourly wage, which is the only way you can make a decent wage.
