      Pros

      Offices and storefront located in a residential area with access to transportation, job stability, opportunity to gain entry-level experience in purchasing and eCommerce.

      Cons

      Employee benefits are lacking; very little sick or vacation time, no apparent access to affordable healthcare or 401k plan. Management is unwilling to give raises or promotions for good work. Supervisors are very nasty and talk down to their employees regularly without reprimand--In fact, it's often encouraged. No opportunity for long-term career growth or advancement.

      The CEO is mentally ill

      The CEO guy and his dog who trails behind him are mentally ill. I’ve recorded this ceo not only verbally abusing me but saying he was smarter than everyone in the room, that we should be thanking him for giving us a paycheck every week, and that I’m not qualified to have an opinion . And he said all of this in front of everyone, raised voice and pointing his finger directly in my face . Do not work here. Everyone who works there is scared. And to be quite honest, it’s pathetic to see. You should never feel scared or stressed at work.

One of Focus Camera's location is in North Brunswick (a separate town from New Brunswick, as listed in your review) however that location is strictly a warehouse and never had Buyers report to/from there. Your feedback is valuable so we would appreciate clarification.

      If you look at all the reviews for Focus Camera, for every bad review, there are at least 2 to 3 amazing reviews that come after. That's because the good reviews are fake. This place is a terrible place to work for many reasons: - You will get verbally abused, talked down to, and micro-managed by the vice president - The way they work internally makes no sense. The vice president is in charge of EVERYTHING so you have to do things his way - The managers are no help. They will do anything to be on the vice president's good side. And that includes throwing you under the bus - There is no room for growth - Expected to get treated like a child because that is how leadership treats people below them - Paychecks are inconsistent. They rob you of your own money - The health insurance is insane. They won't help with any of it so you will be paying a lot for a basic plan There are many other reasons. Bottom line, don't waste your time. Go find a place that will treat you well.

Focus Camera significantly subsidizes health insurance premiums to offer affordable plans to our employees. We have also recently switched providers to offer more options with increased coverage at better rates :) Please email Employee Relations with information of any checks you believe have had a payroll inconsistency. We will review and be happy to explain how to read your paystubs. In the unlikely event that there was an inconsistency to Focus's benefit, we will immediately issue a check to rectify the error.
