Pros

Steady Income, Learn a few things about media, preparation, and inoculation of samples.

Cons

I had to leave because of lack of teamwork, immature work ethic, miscommunication, low morale, unfriendly work environment, lack of growth, 16 hours days, etc! For about 2 years I've endured a great amount of negativity and hostility. I've watched people become bitter and drained from this mundane job. One will stop learning new things in about 6 months and then everything will become redundant. Promotions only occur when someone quits or gets fired. Management promotions do not make sense. The newly hired supervisor is inexperienced and seems to have personal vendettas against her old coworkers and hires personal friends that quit withing a couple months. You will be stuck in a rut if you decide to make FSNS a career. Pay is not too great but someone has to do it, just hope its another person.

I am disappointed you feel your time at FSNS was unfavorable. I have been and always will be committed to improving our employee’s well-being. In our San Antonio Laboratory we have a high percentage of staff who have been with us more than 5 years. Due to their desire to stay with FSNS there are fewer possibilities for a promotion unless you are willing to relocate to one of our 10 other locations. But, with many locations throughout the U.S., there are numerous opportunities for advancement and salary increases. My door is always open for any and all comments and I am committed to improving the company. We routinely ask our employees for feedback and comments on what we can do to ensure their success and happiness. Thank you for your time at FSNS. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, John Bellinger CEO

Pros

We had occasional parties when I worked here and employees could all come together and have a fun time outside of the lab. I actually enjoyed some of our get togethers outside of work, but the actual work is not ever fun. Always rushed which leads to inaccuracy.

Cons

Yea, its not a good place to work, don't stay too long. Is only a career for the people that brown nose their way into management. Corporate doesn't know what they are doing and like to get into all of the labs' businesses. There's also HR going around to all labs trying to get inside info, but don't talk to them because they will use that information against you. Otherwise, best to get into another industry if you are big on honesty and transparency. I appreciate the offer though. Have a nice day.

I’m sorry that you did not find FSNS a great place for you. I certainly wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Further, I would be happy to talk through your concerns via phone so that we can properly address them - we work hard to create a culture where our employees are happy, engaged, challenged, and growing. Incidentally, in HR (as well as other corporate areas) we spend time working in the lab on a regular basis – not to “get inside information” as you stated, but to continue to learn the business and be good business partners to our employees and customers. All the best to you. Bob Cox, SVP HR
