Low Pay

Pros

Small Company, one can be promoted fairly quickly

Cons

With promotion comes little pay increase. Management is extremely unprofessional. Benefits aren't all that good either with high deductibles. Can either work a whole week of OT or a week of less than 40 hours!

Pros

Very nice co-workers and management.

Cons

Training is practically non-existent, and pay is low for the amount and type of work.

Pros

Steady Income, Learn a few things about media, preparation, and inoculation of samples.

Cons

I had to leave because of lack of teamwork, immature work ethic, miscommunication, low morale, unfriendly work environment, lack of growth, 16 hours days, etc! For about 2 years I've endured a great amount of negativity and hostility. I've watched people become bitter and drained from this mundane job. One will stop learning new things in about 6 months and then everything will become redundant. Promotions only occur when someone quits or gets fired. Management promotions do not make sense. The newly hired supervisor is inexperienced and seems to have personal vendettas against her old coworkers and hires personal friends that quit withing a couple months. You will be stuck in a rut if you decide to make FSNS a career. Pay is not too great but someone has to do it, just hope its another person.

Food Safety Net Services Response

I am disappointed you feel your time at FSNS was unfavorable. I have been and always will be committed to improving our employee’s well-being. In our San Antonio Laboratory we have a high percentage of staff who have been with us more than 5 years. Due to their desire to stay with FSNS there are fewer possibilities for a promotion unless you are willing to relocate to one of our 10 other locations. But, with many locations throughout the U.S., there are numerous opportunities for advancement and salary increases. My door is always open for any and all comments and I am committed to improving the company. We routinely ask our employees for feedback and comments on what we can do to ensure their success and happiness. Thank you for your time at FSNS. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, John Bellinger CEO
