Great learning experience at a cost

Pros

- Ready and willing to teach you anything as long as you put in the time and effort - Advancement opportunities within the company are frequent due to the very high turnover rate (it is possible to reach seniority in as little as two years) - Quarterly training on techniques and skills with opportunities to travel to sister laboratories in the country

Cons

- Employees will typically work overtime (50-65) hours a week with no additional pay - Poor management has caused a very high turnover rate, leading to overtime and a constant need for training individuals on highly specialized techniques, which takes time - Expensive health benefits

Pros

Good experience. Some management are great to work with and try hard seeing that even they have disapproval in how the company is ran.

Cons

Will not hire educated individuals, as education would cost them money. Testing results of many labs are awful (fail Proficiency Tests like crazy). No concept of following accredited methods or some basic principles of microbiology. They trend is to make big promises and never deliver. Pay is awful if you are a technician... cashiers at grocery stores make more than their starting wages. Only reason they promote is to make you salary and work you non-stop since salary makes $1 more an hour than non-salary...
