Witnessed the company get worse and worse
Pros
Decent introduction to sneaker culture. Cool co workers. Very quick and easy to get promoted due to lack of employees.
Cons
Since 2019 I’ve seen the company going down hill. Dedicates slim to no resources on its employees, especially at stores. Loads of pressure and requirements for little oh and benefits makes it very difficult for those who actually care about the success of the store (managers). Horrible treatment of employees leads to many other issues in the stores and practically everyone I’ve met in the company since 2019 has left and not in a happy way. As a manager it’s very hard to keep people motivated when the staff is getting minimum wage and getting their benefits reduced, also companies like Nike and Walmart are starting their employees off with a higher wage than some managers at Foot Locker. There isn’t much effort being placed on understanding what’s really going on in the stores, it’s basically you get what you get and you better make sure you hit all the goals assigned to you. Goals are unreasonable on times leading many people to turn to lying and falsifying just to maintain appropriate numbers. Had to apologize to those who I recommended this job to because it honestly provides no distinctive benefits now. Most I can say is it teaches you what not to do as a leader in your future endeavors. Barely provide stores any hours for employees on top of already low age just adding more pressure on everyone.
