Thanks for this. It’s awesome to hear that the flexibility and discount have made a difference for you. Dealing with tough customer moments is part of the job sometimes, but we appreciate how you’ve handled those situations with professionalism. Thanks for being a part of our winning team!

Pros

As a social and talkative person, I genuinely enjoyed customer interaction and getting a glimpse into people's day lives whilst helping them. I was fortunate enough to work with some of the most amazing people and created friendships for life.

Cons

As I became more successful, and staff retention massively dropped, it felt like the stores KPI's and expectations fell upon my shoulders; my responsibilities went way beyond the basics of a sales associate. I was unfortunate enough to be part of the payment restructuring, losing out on valuable commission and the subsequent pay system no longer valued the work output I achieved. Baseline of it all, I felt underappreciated, overworked and underpaid. Progression was non-existent and the value of stepping up positions was never an option in my mind either, as the pay didn't increase by much but the responsibility did massively. Essentially stepping up meant- Hours went up massively (coming in extremely early to open and set up, sometimes alone and working extremely long shifts) Not only that due to staffing issues in the management your holidays were massively restricted.

Really appreciate you sharing all of this. It’s clear you cared a lot about your work and your team. That kind of energy makes a real difference in the store. We hear you on the pressure and how heavy things can feel when expectations keep rising but the recognition doesn’t follow. You clearly brought a lot to your role, and we’re grateful for your contributions to our winning team and to your store!
