Pros

work life balance, god forbid you work an extra 2 mins. HR will call you and tell you your 2 mins of overtime were not approved

Cons

leads are absolute garbage. There will be a ton of calls that do not lead to anything. Of course upper management do not have this problem, they keep all the good leads and give new hires scraps. These scraps are not enough for you to make money. Their promises and expectations are very high, however in reality you will make no money in commission. . Its a hybrid schedule, but attendance is mandatory, upper management will summon you into coming to the office without any heads up or warning, all to tell you the ship is sinking. There is no diversity, its a room full of white straight men. If you are not a white straight man you will feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Eventually someone will say something to you . The job is very stressful with no rewards

Pros

Relatively straightforward job with decent pay and training. The insurance benefits, while not great in comparison to larger fintechs, are actually better than many of their MCA competitors. The UW directors during my time there (Brian & Jarett) were phenomenal. If you have a strong sense of urgency, good attention to detail, and a solid work ethic (volunteering for O.T., taking over deals for people that are absent, etc.), then you will thrive as an UW here. Work-life balance is strong; no mandatory O.T and strict 9-to-6 schedule. Weekly breakfast and monthly lunch, as well as occasional happy hours.

Cons

The job, while simple, can become very repetitive and monotonous. Due to how heavily saturated this industry is, sales reps and ISOs blatantly/repeatedly lie to merchants just to close deals, which often creates significant issuss down the road. We HAD to commute to the office 2-3 times per week, and couldn't simply WFH when we were sick. Only management had the option to freely WFH. HR watched your time like a hawk; we had to clock EXACTLY 40 hours each week. The UWs worked in an office near a shady part of Penn Station (down the street from a rehab clinic and around the corner from a 7-Eleven to which police frequently responded). Even though there were only a couple hundred employees during my time there, "upper management" fancied themselves as all-powerful deities (I.E. never joining meetings, staying in a closed office all day, etc.). High turnover, and few opportunities for advancement.
