Pros

My personal team culture here is great in my opinion. My colleagues are supportive, collaborative, and genuinely great to work with. My direct manager is fantastic—always approachable, offers clear guidance, and cares about my growth. The work-life balance is solid on my team and I feel like my contributions are valued by my immediate team and manager. Plenty of opportunities for skill development and learning on the job.

Cons

While my direct manager is very engaged, there’s a noticeable disconnect between the executive leadership team and lower-level employees. We rarely hear from the execs outside of a town hall meeting, It would be great to have more regular communication or involvement from them. Sometimes it feels like decisions from the top don’t fully reflect the needs or input of the day-to-day teams.

Pros

Time off flexibilty beyond standard PTO.

Cons

Mounumental silos. Managers do not know how to have "crucial conversations." Instead, they undercut their reports in public, shut down discussions of disagreements, and threaten to withhold bonuses. Employees who speak up are pushed to "quiet quit" while compliant employees work mounumental unpaid overtime. In many groups, open source and AI are dirty words. Remote work is inflexible. Forescout products are supposed to protect security. They don't allow employees to use standard security tools. They miss opportunities when faced with insecure hardware. The security team doesn't share their standards. When someone questions them, they retaliate. They advertise for "cybersecurity enthusiasts wanted." Forescout is where cybersecurity professionals lose their skills (unless you're working in a security group. Then you get control over others.) If you join, keep records of everything. Be ready when managers throw you under the bus. In this market, they probably can. The tech is still in the '00s. Some managers are trying to help -- but their want to advance Forescout tech to the 2010s.

Sorry you are having such a difficult experience at Forescout. This isn't a good forum to address your critique. You may not be aware, but the CEO has a team of advisors draw from our SE's. It's a super open forum to gather direct feedback from the front-line technologists and incorporate it into product, support, and go to market initiatives. We also have regular Exec ELT (extended leadership team) meetings and workshops to improve communication, bi-directional feedback, and alignment. These are just two examples of address vertical and horizontal silos.
