Pros

If you like a fast paced work environment, this is the place for you. There are tons of opportunities to work your butt off and advance. Additionally, people will notice and give you more opportunities. Salary is fair; insurance is good; commuter benefits are good. Executive team is competent and I like the direction the business is heading, as a whole.

Cons

It is easy to overwork yourself and get burned out. If you're capable and a new problem comes up, you may get drowned with work quickly. It's important to know when to say no. No 401k matching at this time, although I've heard they want to change it in the future. Culture can differ across sites. None of it is bad, per se, but each location definitely works best for a particular mindset and workflow. Executive team sometimes puts their foot in their mouth. It's becoming more apparent the gap between higher and lower levels, which can leave a bad taste if not handled respectfully.

Pros

There aren't many places where my work can contribute to solving big problems like climate change. The innovations here are happening so quickly. I've seen the company hit obstacles that concerned me throughout my time here. But I was always surprised by what could be accomplished given this group of motivated, intelligent, and kind individuals. I've read some of the other reviews talking about egos and arrogance, but I've not seen that. There probably are some bad apples. However, in general, what I'm seeing is humility even at the foot of extensive experience, skills, knowledge, and education. I also like that the executive team is very approachable. They welcome ad-hoc conversations and questions when I bump into them at the "water-cooler". I've asked Mateo (CEO) about our spend rate and if that is keeping him up at night. I've asked what our plan is for getting future rounds of funding under current economic challenges. He was honest and open to answering those types of questions.

Cons

This is a startup in transition. We are moving fast as we are building out manufacturing with the preparation to deploy our batteries. We favor progress over perfection. That means we might change direction. That means we might scrap previous work. That means we might prioritize new scopes of work as "new information comes to light" (Big Lebowski reference). So it does take a certain mindset to enjoy working here and to be successful. But if you can do that, you'll find it very rewarding. Oh, and we don't have a matching 401k.

Pros

Form Energy is one of the most innovative, rewarding, and driven companies. The people are some of the smartest I have worked with, and they pride themselves on Diversity and Inclusion. This is reflected by the dynamic teams and seriously motivated employees. They have outstanding benefits, compensation, and the CEO is proven. Like every startup, the values can shift in the execution phase. This can be accompanied by a demanding work environment, but the Managers recognize this and ensure support wherever they can.

Cons

The culture at Form Energy has recently shifted. Accountability is key, but it is apparent that leadership has not provided Managers with support to succeed on certain teams. -Some performance reviews do not provide clear actionable items -Trust amongst other teams has deteriorated due to misinformation -Certain leaders treat employees with contempt rather than positive reinforcement These traits are apparent as several employees have recently separated from the company. Form will succeed, but needs to build a culture unique to themselves to define who they are in the next phase of their success.
