Pros

Great mission. Experienced, smart, empathetic leadership. Far more gender balanced than most tech companies -- in terms of diversity and inclusion, this company really puts in effort (not just talk). Company is working on a problem that matter, with a focused approach. Strong values, good people.

Cons

Form is growing fast and that can lead to a sense of being out of equilibrium for awhile. That is worth it is the mission, values, and people are good.

Pros

Mission: Form Energy is enabling a renewable grid! The technology they're building doesn't exist yet, and is essential for decarbonization. Values: The company takes its values of humanity, excellence, and creativity seriously. They're deliberate about building an organization full of people who exemplify the values and about holding themselves to them. Employees are treated generally very well; there's lots of autonomy and opportunity for growth, and the leadership is accessible and receptive to comments. Management is hands-off and casual; you're trusted to do your job. Compensation is fair. The team: What a wonderful group to work with! Every person is caring, honest, devoted to the mission, and good at what they do. The technology: Form Energy is taking the right approach to solving this technical challenge, is aware of the potential pitfalls, and proactive about avoiding them.

Cons

-Those applying should be aware that the company is growing really fast, and has an extremely small, overburdened recruiting staff (though they are recruiting another recruiter!) - Lots of ambiguity and uncertainty around everything, and some communication challenges associated with being a growing startup. You need to be very comfortable not knowing to enjoy it here. This includes unclear expectations for hours-- you're supposed to just "get your work done", and nobody will tell you you're not working enough if you are, but most people here work a TON of hours. -This is a pro for some people, but because of the startup atmosphere, you really need to be a self-starter, take initiative, take things into your own hands, and speak up for yourself. - The "high standards" and impressive team lead inevitably to large amounts of imposter syndrome. -Though it's better than many similar tech companies on this metric, the team is not super diverse, especially at higher levels, though it is improving!

Pros

Form Energy believes in its mission to meaningfully address climate change by enabling the transition to a reliable, secure, and fully-renewable electric grid in the next two decades. One can see it in the motivation that each one of our colleagues contribute every day. But we strive to go beyond the mission ... It's always true that talented professionals in search for a motivational challenge join for the mission, but stay for the values and for the experience. Ours is a long term journey and without the utmost consideration of the latter, we would not succeed. It is truly the experience that makes this company the best place I have worked at. Our values - Humanity, Excellence and Creativity - reflect the belief that we must excel in new and creative ways to tackle the immense challenge ini front of us, but never at the cost of the human values of generosity, kindness, support and love for diversity that we owe to ourselves and to our colleagues.

Cons

Not sure if this is a con, but the bar on excellence is high.
