Not the place it used to be

Pros

The people at Forrester are great, with only very few exceptions. Good benefits.

Cons

Culture has been negatively altered, probably permanently. It's a much less pleasant place to work than it used to be, now with a more aggressive culture and the ever-looming threat of layoffs, Was a reliably slow-growing company for years but the stock price tells the tale.

Pros

The people are caring, smart, and very collaborative. Good benefits. The medical insurance cost for employees has not increased in a few years.

Cons

The only reason I made it through the last 3 years was because my colleagues and I were trauma bonded from the constant change of direction, lack of communication, and RIFs that we could anticipate coming. Promotions and merit have been paused for a few years now. Anyone who wants to progress in their careers (or even make $1,000 more) has no choice but to leave. There are no career opportunities. Even before the company performance declined, promotions were nearly impossible to get. If you were lucky, you got promoted every 3-4 years. It's likely that your salary was already below the market, so you're set up to be below market value for your entire time at Forrester. Forrester publishes research about employee experience and our EX is a joke. They spent an entire year talking about how DEI was a top company initiative, hired a director, hosted events that were attended and appreciated, then removed all of it out of fear of legal implications. There are smart people at this company who could have found a way to keep some of these efforts. Every announcement from senior leadership feels like a gut punch.
