Growing pains

Pros

Dynamic, ever-changing work environment as as the company is growing fast, changing its business model and product offering frequently.

Cons

Disorganized collection of smaller teams at the whim of their Directors. If you like things the way they are, unfortunately they'll likely change the moment a new Director is promoted or new product launched.

What a mess

Pros

Kitchen snacks, free wifi, normal business hours.

Cons

Cost cutting, lack of diversity, management confused from the top down, company direction is non-existent, investing more in India office and hiring staff there than in US, current investment company wants out, and CEO continues to sidestep the question. There’s a good chance Forte will not exist by 2020. Obvious Forte is hurting for revenue.

Unfair and unregulated work environment

Pros

The coworkers are awesome. There are some incredibly smart, friendly and hardworking people who work within the company. There are some cool fringe benefits such as $250/year for life long learning, $750/year for health and wellness, $3000/year for professional development.

Cons

There is extreme favoritism, as in, if your manager doesn't like you, you don't get promoted and/or your raise is in jeopardy, there is little consistency between departments, and many policies are decidedly ambiguous so the company can maneuver decisions to be in the company's favor without care for the employee or their career. Lots of secrecy; there were many times where I was deliberately told, "but don't tell people this. Just see if anyone notices." Senior leadership recently decided not to send emails congratulating people on promotions because it was causing a disturbance despite one of the core values being celebrate. Also, no sick leave.
