      Pros

      - Good pay compared to the industry - Ability to work on many different projects - Modern(ish) tech and platforms to work with - SME in respective areas are knowledgeable

      Cons

      - Single threaded means you will likely need to work on many different projects at the same time - Every budget item (even small items) are closely watched and need to be justified - Bottom line is everything. People come second - Work life balance during due dates for big projects doesn't exist, likely the only resource for a specific domain.

      Fortive's adorably branded "FBS" (yes ex-Danaher's just changed the acronym) is an antiquated ripoff of Toyota's lean manufacturing processes that presumably Ralliant will inevitably call RBS. However no amount of deifying the FBS methods and spreadsheets can adequately provide enough ample "continuous improvement" air cover to explain away the continued erosion of ARR in the software businesses. A former Fortive executive bringing FBS (but with AI!) to Microsoft might be a good sign to short MSFT! Fortive's intentional embrace of the Chief Product and Technology Officer hybrid role at their OpCo's was emblematic of thoughtless and clueless MBAs who run their businesses into the ground. The Ralliant/Fortive split in the trenches is causing chaos especially due to IT mismanagement.
