Pros

Gain some experience by self teaching on the W2 program. Seeing what a bad agency looks like and knowing this is not an acceptable way to run a state program.

Cons

Everything. Lead and program managers protect one another and claim they help but they to nothing. Top management allows this to happen. FSC expects participants in W2 to be accountable yet when FSC reviews reviews left they never admit their at fault, its always thank you for you review and sorry it didn't work out for you best of luck in the future and they talk about the changes they have implemented.

Thank you for your review. There is a lot of energy and enthusiasm about our mission and company among our almost 400 employees. Like any organization, we can always improve in some areas. This is why we respond with the changes we’ve made and we take the opinions offered by employees seriously and incorporate them into the results from surveys and exit reviews to make a more positive working environment for our staff. An overwhelming number of employees enjoy working here at FSC and our most recent employee engagement survey had a 90% approval rate from staff.

A non-profit lost its way

Pros

At it's core FSC is a good company, trying to be ethical. The soul of the organization is solid but not actions of late are lacking. Local teams work very hard to reach goals, great ability to help one another.

Cons

FSC used to be a great place to work but the organization has lost its heart. The senior management in Madison seem to believe that the field staff aren't working hard enough, aren't smart enough to grasp the concepts presented, and constantly berate and diminish the efforts of those actually doing the work. The people in the main office have no idea how difficult it is to navigate a series of measures that conflict with one another in a supposedly customer service focused program while constantly being asked to take on more. It never gets easier, you can't work harder, you are constantly made to feel like a failure. Maybe we are working hard enough, maybe it's not the people doing the work who aren't doing the right thing--maybe it is the program? You are only capable of handling so much criticism before you exhaust your compassion. We are beaten up almost daily about performance but we are the best in the state--if no one else can do it better, why are you crushing your workers? We aren't dumb, incompetent, unmotivated, uneducated animals like you chose to treat us. FSC staff are losing steam quickly, everyone has a breaking point. Start appreciating your staff!

Your review, and all other reviews, have an impact on the organization. We value employees’ opinions and idea. Our performance, while probably not the most fun part of our work, is absolutely essential. It is how we are evaluated by our funding sources and our customers. These change over time, as they do in any industry, and our entire organization has to change with these. It takes all of our staff to adapt and succeed in these ever evolving circumstances, grow as an organization, and provide the best services possible to our customers – at the end of the day, that’s what we’re all here for. Our goal is to have Forward Service Corporation moving together with one purpose.

Pros

Rewarding job if you enjoy working with people. This job really does fine tune if "case management" is the job for you. Based on previous reviews, this type of job is not for everyone and I believe FSC does a great job moving forward with winning team players.

Cons

Caseloads and behind the scene paperwork can be a lot. This job needs someone with excellent time management. If you struggle with time management, this is not the job for you.
