Pros
Good discounts and you do meet some great people. Pay is decent for a college student.
Cons
Management is pushy. Sales techniques are pushy, they want you to follow the customer and harass them until they buy something or leave. Too much gossip and drama, worse than high school in my opinion. I was brought in to do floorsets and shipment and now have next to no hours because hours are based on SPH and you can't sell anything if you are in the back doing shipment or working floorsets when the store is closed. Managers don't explain to you what they want, they just saw they aren't happy with it or say that everything is wrong. This holds true especially for floorsets when the RM or DM comes in. You hear things that management has said about you behind your back, for me it was that I was a mindless folower, again worse than high school. Lack of communication on schedule changes. I wasn't scheduled at all and then I get a call one morning telling me that I am late for my shift. I couldn't go as I made plans since I thought I was off. Offer training, I wasn't trained at all and my first day on the floor I had no idea what was going on.
