Pros

- Excellent health plan / retirement options / pay. - Work life balance was great. - There is an authentic culture of empathy and caring for others. - Adoption of an agile framework (SAFe 5.0) calls out dependencies between teams effectively and aligns the entire company effectively. - The product roadmap is well thought out and strategic. - Great relationships between product & engineering. - Diverse and strategic hiring initiatives both in skill and culture/race/ethnicity. - Genuinely good people work here. - I liked my boss.

Cons

I don't know whether or not this is a "con" for a majority of programmers.. But: - For those who enjoy working with and are comfortable with varying implementations and styles of code, you may not enjoy building things here (right now). - To effect change as a senior software engineer can take a considerable amount of effort and patience (for me).

Pros

Great benefits package and good vacation and development stipends

Cons

Impossible to get a promotion any way other than seniority and being political. Performance does not matter.

Foundant Technologies Response

Foundant has always perceived itself and continues to aspire to be a merit-based organization where an employee’s abilities, accomplishments, and drive determines their path within the company. And we continue to look at the most effective way to assess skills within the team, how to promote, and how to offer new opportunities. It is apparent from your comments, you do not feel we are doing this effectively. Please take the time to discuss your feelings with your manager, HR, or any member of our executive team. We need to hear your feedback in order to address it and we need to know what “being political” means to you in order to understand how it has adversely affected your experience or your perception. At our current growth stage, there are certainly areas where we are weaker or may make mistakes. However, if we’re not aware of how you’re feeling, we can’t take steps to address the areas we may be falling short. If Foundant is a place you wish to continue to work, please help us make it a place that lives up to the merit-based organization we want it to be for all employees.
