Pros
Some of the people who work for this company are incredible to work with, super nice, and easy to build both professional and personal relationships with. Some, not all, of the management is a pleasure to work under. Having an on-site gym with locker rooms and showers is a nice perk. The benefits are decent compared to those of other employers, but I wouldn't rate them top-tier. The office is conveniently located near many food options and is easily accessible from the highway for commuters. This company is an excellent springboard for other jobs in the industry. There are people from all walks of life, and it seems this company does a decent job of inclusion.
Cons
This was a 5-star company to work for; I mean, "was."\ The support department is one of the company's most depressing and stressful parts. You will feel like one of the managers is holding your head underwater while being the department's most out-of-touch and least knowledgeable person. The bonuses are like a dangling carrot; you do your best to earn them, but management always comes up with something to take part, or sometimes all, of them away. This rings true for more than just the support department, too. "Oh, you had pneumonia and could barely breathe, so you called off one day this quarter? Too bad, we're cutting your bonus." "Oh, your mom died and you needed an extra day or two to handle affairs? Too bad, we're cutting your bonus." With their current salary offerings, getting approved for a home loan through a reputable lender in this housing market isn't easy. Many lenders do not consider bonuses a stable income source and only consider base salary. This company touts a "family-owned business" atmosphere, but it is far from it. They will promise the world about "work-life balance" but fail to deliver on many levels with strict working hours and even stricter compensation loopholes. The compensation structure is abysmal, and they try to compensate for it with bonus structures that are only attainable if you bury your face in your work and don't ask questions. Heaven forbid you need to call off or have things out of your control; they will cut that bonus faster than you got hired. To further exacerbate the issue, they dangle new positions in front of you, promising more pay and a better quality of life, only to find out those moves are lateral salary-wise and bring higher stress levels. The hiring process is essentially a math test and some personal interviews for a position that requires you to know or learn basic accounting, job costing, and the interworkings of the tech industry to be successful. When you couple this with the management they have in place, it's no wonder the turnover rate has become so high. Senior leadership has zero foresight for the future, making it difficult to see the long-term goal as attainable. The turnover has become so commonplace that their only stability is in their senior staff, who are aging and will eventually retire, which is not a good thing. The more tenured employees are growing restless, and many have opened their doors to the possibility of leaving, making it more difficult to remain committed.
