Pros

Working from home was the best part of my Sitel experience.

Cons

The training for technical work was much too short. Going into actual production, most of us on the team felt totally unprepared. It's mostly learn as you, which is very hard on customers. My reason for leaving was one that I've never encountered in my entire working career. I simply was paid after I was in production. When I didn't receive my pay, I was told by HR that I would get a Visa Prepaid Card, which I believe is completely illegal. The company is not solvent, and can't afford to pay. I would stay far, far away.

Pros

Business casual work environment Friendly people Good attention to efficiency and security Paid training Occupational perks, depending on the campaign

Cons

Exceptionally low pay in comparison to competition I technically only had this job for two days, so it's not fair for me to judge it. I resigned after the second day because I received a better job offer (a major salary leap from $9/hr to $14.hr). I resigned in person and as soon as I knew I was taking another job. I didn't want to "steal time" or abandon the job through a No Call No Show; I wanted to be as respectful and considerate as possible to leave on good terms. It didn't make sense to me to resign with two weeks notice: I wouldn't be there to preform the job they were training me for. Although my trainer was understanding, the OM was a little passive-aggressive. When I told him/her the company who I was leaving for, he/she told me that he/she knew people who worked there and were no longer working with them, but he/she didn't want to "speak negatively of another company." I still have not found a negative review or rant from a former/current employee for [my current employer], but I have found many negative Sitel reviews.

Pros

I suppose to be fair and put something in this box, Sitel is a friendly and laid back place to work and offers paid training and monthly bonuses.

Cons

Oh where do I start. First, it's a call center, that means long days of just sitting talking on the phone using scripted language with callers who don't care what they are being told. I have worked in other call centers before but never before have I been paid so little and have been expected to meet so many goals. I answer calls for three different departments for the client, each with different ways of handeling the call and penalties for not handeling that call type in the prescribed manner. The place is geared more toward handeling phone calls, as many and as frequently as possible, than helping the callers.
