Not bad for a government contract company

Pros

Down to earth CEO - Wes Hester is probably the most personable guy in government contracting. Most contract companies only care if you're showing up to work so they get their pay, but Foxhole tries to add some humanity to it. Yearly bonuses: they do at least a little profit sharing at holiday time. It's not a big bonus but it's nice to have. Small-company feel - they still send out Happy Birthday messages to the entire employee list. It's a nice touch even if half the people you get messages for, you've never met, because they work on the other side of the country on a different contract. Good ethics. I have seen contract companies ask for some shady stuff about where to expense your time or how to pass the buck, but I have never seen Foxhole do that.

Cons

Low contractor pay: not unique to Foxhole, that's just the government contracting business, but beware joining them as a subcontractor instead of the prime on the contract. There is a LOT of money being scraped off the top of your salary before it ever gets to you. Awful insurance that covers little, plus the absolute mess of submitting bills for reimbursement from a company-funded HRA account was almost not worth the trouble. Little room for advancement - they pay a lot of lip service about outstanding service to the customer, but at the end of the year you're probably just going to get a small raise with no hope of promotion no matter what you do.

Foxhole Technology Response

Thank you for your review. We are very surprised that you indicate that Foxhole's insurance covers little. Most of our employees tell us that they are very happy with the level of coverage we provide. We have a Cigna PPO with no copays and Foxhole fully funds the employee/family deductible through a Health Reimbursement Account. To comply with the rules of the HRA you are required by law to submit receipts for auditing purposes. Foxhole attempts to grow contracts and help our employees advance whenever possible and do provide yearly raises and the potential to earn more through a discretionary bonus. We agree that we have great employees and are always interested in learning of new ways we can reward them!
