Decent Engineering Opportunities, but you can only go so far

Pros

- There are opportunities to move up - Can usually avoid working more than 40-45 hrs per week - Company culture is generally pretty good

Cons

- Engineering is not technical. Almost all calculations are based on deemed savings or TRM values, so Franklin Energy may not be a good fit for those looking for a technical challenge. You can still get good experience in roles that involve on-site work, but I would recommend avoiding an engineering desk job - Turnover is somewhat high - Management is somewhat reactive rather than proactive, although this is sometimes unavoidable when dealing with utility companies

Pros

You will work with some of the best individuals for the most part. The atmosphere with the rank and file is great.

Cons

Micromanaging from corporate. Local management can also be difficult with one or two individuals calling the shots over peers. Decisions are made without consulting local management on personnel and then no support for lack of resources.

Some of the best reasons to work for Franklin would be that they will pay you a decent wage for your work.

Cons

Too many people in upper management with absolutely no experience and what they're trying to manage. It has led to a lot of circling back and a lot of double and triple redundancy
