Always hiring, decent wages depending on position and years of service (100% due to a strong union [UFCW]), many decent managers and co-workers, discounts, ability to transfer to WA, ID, or AK, great first job to gain good customer service skills and training.

Cons

High turnover, Fred Meyer thrives on the phrase, "It's not what you know, it's who you know," as a result of that philosophy the ranks of lower and middle management are filled with terribly unintelligent, dull, and uncaring micromanaging drones.

Pros

Good coworkers, time off policy was fair, supervisors were good to work with. I had no problems while I worked here and did enjoy it.

Cons

The customers could sometimes be less than pleasant. They had us frequently watch extremely boring training videos. Overall the pros outweighed the cons for me.

The people I worked with were really great. Very friendly and helpful, they felt like a family. Good benefits. Good balance of work and home life. Very easy to request time off as long as you do it far enough in advance. Love the associate discount.

Cons

I can't really think of any. Maybe get higher pay over time, closer to Costco's pay rate.
