Pros

You definitely can move up the ladder fast if you try, and it is also great experience to put on your resume.

Cons

I did get promoted really quickly but because I didn't know about the pay scale I was underpaid for the position I was promoted to. I even tried to talk to my union and they did absolutely nothing for me even though you pay them to stand up for you every month.

Pros

Benefits are a plus. Raises are based on clock hours not on performance. Chance to move up in within the Kroger company. Kroger has groceries across the united states so you can transfer and move if needed. Paid every week.

Cons

Starting rate for deli clerk is low for the work they do. Picking up slack from co workers who don't work as hard don't really get recognition or paid more if you work harder than others. Full time only for assistant and managers. Hours are different every week. Odd hours they give you. Have to be in one department for 6 months even if you don't like it before you can apply for a different department which isn't a 100% guarantee you will be able to switch.

Pros

Fred Meyer/Kroger does make a strong effort to show its employees that they are an important asset to the company. The company has invested a lot of time and money to communicate goals and results to all is employees from regional supervisors to store cart pushers, which is pretty impressive. Pay is better than most of our competition. Turnover seems to be low. When promotions come open lots apply to get the positions. Helping customers and co-workers make working at Fred Meyer very satisfying.

Cons

Sometimes not always regional management can be condescending to store management and store employees. Negativity from them does affect store morale and how people think about their company as a whole.
