      Pros

      Benefits are terrific. Depending on your Department or Supervisor, flexibility is great.

      Cons

      Salaries much lower than other government entities. Human Resources very unresponsive and hard to reach. Some departments have a 'favoritism' mentality - it's not how good you are, it's who you know or how long you've been there. Advancement can be difficult.

      Pros

      Senior Leadership and Officers were amazing, charitable with their time, and wanted the best for you. Competitive environment that fostered training hard and performing well at our station.

      Cons

      Pay and low staffing were difficult - I would have stayed if it followed DC shift of 24 on, 72 off
