Pros

Copper is a great inflation-proof field to be in, the company is profitable and growing like a weed, and the benefits and salary are competitive.

Cons

It's a mining company, so it's an old-boys club in a lot of ways. Also, Copper is in good shape NOW but if the bottom drops out of the price the company will hurt. The company is pretty much a one-trick-pony.

Pros

They hire new engineers out of school and give them opportunity to start their career.

Cons

This applies only for Phelps Dodge (before the buy out) 1. Insane management that mentally torments employees 2. Employees are forced to put in illegal long hours daily 3. Managers threaten and scream (really loud) at the employees 4. Managers snoop on the private life of the employees and use that to punish them at work 5. Incompetent management that takes lots of time off during the day for their private chores
