Pros

Pay is good, of which were fighting for now to keep, job security used to be, but shipping jobs out for lower wages. Great benefits..until they take that away in the next contract that is up to a year past the contract deadline now. that always works in our favor....NOT.

Cons

This little grey box isnt big enough. Funny how a hugh memo comes out about this site, and all of a sudden the foot soldiers fall in line with all the 5 star comments about how great this company is to work for. Exactly whats wrong with this company..Profit, Sales and Numbers..thats all this place is about.. The Customer whos that....O their just the ones sending in all the money.. Storm comes thru, knocks out hundreds of customers...O guess what NO OVERTIME....really putting the customer first in the regard. That might cut into our year end bonuses..we cant allow any overtime for the needs of the customers...But hey lets put them first....ZERO plant upgrades..that costs money too.. Lets send out orders for customers for an HSI hook up at 300k...so we can get a sale..How about they eldery person who is sold bonded so they can read an email..because thats what they need to see an email. 24 meg...on a fixed income...but hey someone got a sale one more...and some money...try putting all that sale one more into some plant upgrades..keep the shirts and coffee mugs..ditch the buffalo and try working on the back bone of this company..the customers and the sad excuse for a cable plant... Running on 1960 slic systems. Numbers is all this place cares about..O by the way if you think your an important team member...guess what your just a number like everything else in this company.. Bad plant isnt an excuse to all you splicers out there..it all averages out in the end.

Pros

insurance, decent pay, co workers in our area agree this place is going down the tubes. working with antiquated equipment means you have lots of retirees to go to for training.

Cons

lack of training, lack of money and time for maintenance on failing cable plant, local management push sales because they were never in craft side of industry. Frontier 143 only hired sales people after Verizon sold the 13 states to Frontier.

I am very disappointed.

Pros

The pay and benefits are reasonable. I believe that the company wants to provide customers with the best service possible.

Cons

There is enormous pressure to cut corners and work as fast as possible to accommodate heavy (sometimes extremely heavy) work-loads day in and day out. The resulting stress has resulted in medical problems and other stress related illnesses among employees and is causing the accident rate to climb. Management believes that "inattention" is the cause of the increased accident rate, but I suggest that "inattention" is merely one of the symptoms of stress. Every day is a race to complete the work that has been handed to us as quickly as possible in order to minimize overtime and get home to our families at a reasonable hour.
