Pros

Most of the people who work here are nice.

Cons

Most of management doesn't know what they're doing. If they don't have an answer, they ignore you. If you suck up you get promoted.

Pros

The pay scale in WV is wonderful due to the Union. The benefits were top-notch. If you get a job, enjoy the pay and benefits, and try not to be sucked into the corporate drama. Not a bad place to work but just wasn't the place I wanted to be any longer. I believe they are still trying to bust the union but so far CWA is hanging on.

Cons

Once Frontier took over from Verizon who took over from Bell Atlantic I knew my position was toast. Automation was the demise of the Operator. I tried unsuccessfully to transfer out of the dead-end department but decided to take a buyout after 15 years because I could see writing on the wall. The CEO at the time came to our city to explain how things would be run from now on. She made no bones about it; the family atmosphere and the days of Ma Bell were over. I did not like the culture any longer. Miss the pay and benefits but my stress level is coming down and sad to see the end of an era.
