I had my doubts at first, BUT

Pros

FNC is a really great place these days. The company used to have a very conservative, slow, siloed culture, and remnants of that attitude can still be found in some of the old guard who have been here 15+ years (but not everyone, and on the flip side, this is certainly the kind of company you can retire from!). But FNC is making efforts to change. Execs have open door policies for the most part, and the company is working hard to be more welcoming, open, and agile. My team is friendly and supportive and my managers are 100% supportive of both personal and professional growth. There is a lot of opportunity here, and switching jobs/departments within the company isn't frowned upon. Competitive pay, too!

Cons

- Can still be slow to change in certain situations - Few (but increasing) number of employees under 30. Very tame environment. - The medical insurance isn't great

Pros

Most of the lower level employees were great to work with and are great people in general.

Cons

The micromanagement approach and ruling with an iron fist approach is not a good way to motivate your employees nor will it bring the best out them. It does the exact opposite. While I was there, long term as well as employees who haven't been there a whole year were leaving either because they found better opportunities elsewhere or they needed to distance themselves from the constant negativity and demoralizing effects it had on them. I was one of those that left and I do not regret it.
